Golf Courses with a view of the Sardinian Sea
IS MOLAS GOLF COURSE:
The Is Molas Golf Course is one of the best known in Italy and has been a benchmark for this sport in Sardinia for over thirty years. Thanks to its vicinity to the sea and the protection of the surrounding hills, Is Molas enjoys a unique microclimate which is mild enough to be particularly favourable to playing golf throughout the year: the temperature reaches 20°C in early spring and rises to over 30° in summer. Even in winter, the temperature can easily exceed 15 degrees during December and January.
The 27-hole Is Molas golf course is the largest and the most technical in Sardinia.
The eighteen holes of the championship course is the result of collaboration between Cotton, Pennink & Partners and Piero Mancinelli. The greens and bunkers are American style and the fairways are broad enough to forgive a slice. The Is Molas championship course is one of the most technical and spectacular courses in Italy and throughout the Mediterranean. It has hosted many prestigious competitions including 4 Italian Opens and a European Volvo Master.
The nine holes on the Yellow Course – the most challenging of all – were designed by Franco Piras, Gary Player Design's representative in Italy. The presence of typical local flora and Mediterranean brush along the course makes Is Molas a splendid garden with a view of the sea.
The Club House is elegant and well-equipped. There is a café with a panoramic terrace and a pro shop. The Is Molas Restaurant is open for lunch and offers a creative Mediterranean cuisine based on local Sardinian products.
Golfers can also rent a cart, a set of clubs and other equipment. Is Molas is also home to the Dan Williamson Academy where golf lessons and courses can be booked.
